Historical Content and Curriculum Development

With my extensive background in American History, I have facilitated dozens of workshops and offered lectures to a variety of groups, catering especially to their unique interests and needs. I have designed workshops for community groups, secondary level and university settings, and elderly care facilities.

I can help you design the perfect workshop, or I can design/facilitate it for you. My areas of expertise include a number of important areas, primarily related to U.S. History, African-American History, race, and gender. I am also available to help you design curriculum around these and many other history-related issues, while making relevant connections to the present.

I’ve offered numerous workshops over the years, including (but not limited to):

“The History of Blackface”

“The Fight for the 19th Amendment”

“Votes for Women: Black Women and the Suffrage Movement”

“Women in the Civil Rights Movement”

“Sexual Harassment and the Silencing of Black Women in History:”

“Gender 101: Tools and Trends for ‘Gender Conscious’ Scholarship”

“The History of Race and Education”

“The Long Civil Rights Movement,” America in the ‘60s”

“A People on the Move: The Great Migration in American History”

Writing Workshops

I have experience working with diverse groups—students preparing college essays, graduate students, and postgraduates preparing their first publishable manuscripts.

With my passion for writing and my vast editorial experience, I can facilitate and/or help you design a workshop that caters to writers who are looking for extra assistance with their varying projects. Whether the intended audience comprises academics or business professionals, I can offer a workshops that covers the fundamentals of grammar (which we can all use), structure and organization (including thesis development), as well as research and content.
